Writers in Community Coordinator, Old Dominion University

August 2016 - May 2018

  • Work closely with the Creative Writing Graduate Program Director and assist with administrative duties

  • Develop programs and events which support the organization's mission such as poetry readings, classroom visits, and book drives

  • Establish and maintain relationships with various organizations in the local community 

  • Coordinate meetings with community groups for collaboration

  • Attend and participate in community activities and schools in the area to represent Writers in Community to build new partnerships

  • Grant writing

  • Recruit and manage volunteers for outreach and events

  • Curriculum Development for creative writing workshops

  • Increase and oversee social media presence

  • Prepare biannual reports for Graduate Program Director to track success of programming
