Hi! I'm Amanda Gomez, a poet, instructor, and now law school student. In other words, my days are filled with writing, teaching, and studying. Essentially, I have no life - and I couldn't imagine it differently!
Being a first generation Latinx college student, I never imagined I'd be where I am today, which means my pedagogy demands attention towards teaching as a confrontation of power, rather than solely an attention towards craft. I understand the implications and awareness of not being considered as an academically viable student. Writing inevitably requires a certain form of lifestyle, one which demands free time, the ability to write, and access to materials and art, both historical and contemporary. I am deeply committed to teaching and cultivating a dialogue of voices which continuously seeks to un-name the other.
